Mystic Krewe of Pegasus Memphis

Schedule (Calendar)

Get a drink, sit down, be quiet and let Kelly Carey and the Mystic Krewe of Pegasus entertain you with a special evening of music and laughter. Kelly Carey is an award-winning singer/actress hailing from somewhere in Midwest and has spent most of her career in musical theatre (except for that short time that she spent...never mind. It isn't important what she was doing). Her favorite roles include Diana in "Next to Normal," Pippi in "The Great Trailer Park Musical" and originating the role of Eva Peron in "Evita." (Wait...wasn't that Patti Lupone? She might have made up that last one.)When she got too old and tired to do eight shows a week, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a gay icon (because who doesn't?) like her role models, Cher, Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow. (Apparently some people are still on the fence about Barry being a gay icon but a lot feel absolutely sure he is, in fact, gay.) Kelly has cut her teeth in cabaret rooms, cranking out raunchy jokes and singing high notes until she passed out into the front row. But when she awoke, she found she was a hit with audiences and bartenders around the country! Since then, she's been telling dirty jokes and singing both high and low notes in other places like Celebrity Cruises (for John Heath Travel), The Dunes (the largest gay resort complex in the Midwest) and, of course, LGBT Pride events from sea to shining rainbow sea.For one night only, a Midwest girl goes Vegas in Memphis. It's kind of like a dream come true. Spend the evening with Mystic Krewe of Pegasus and enjoy Vegas-style entertainment in Memphis!

Kelly Carey's dynamic range and versatility as a performer set her apart from even the best singers. She regularly does shows for Celebrity Cruise Lines and Fortune 500 company events. Kelly is known for her great singing voice and hilarious comedy routines.  Kelly's 12-year career as a professional singer and actress covers countless musical roles including Mary Magdalene in J.C. Superstar, Val in A Chorus Line, and the regional debuts of The Great American Trailer Park Musical, and The Marvelous Wonderettes. She has also been featured on CBS Unsolved Mysteries and will appear in the upcoming film, The Offspring. She has served as a Musical Director for such shows as Grease, Big River and Fame, the Musical, as well as for her own original cabaret shows and concerts.
